Carolyn Watkins - Contemporary Ceramic Vessels

I am extremely excited to offer these four vessels by Houston based ceramic artist Carolyn Watkins. I first came across Carolyn’s work at an exhibition at the Indianapolis Arts Center curated by the brilliant Kyle Herrington. I was immediately drawn to them much like I was to the work of iconic American ceramic artist Ken Price the first time I saw his pieces exhibited at the Nasher Sculpture Center in Dallas.

Watkins is originally from Cincinnati, Ohio. She received her Master of Fine Arts in ceramics from the Hope School of Fine Arts at Indiana University, and her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the school of Design, Art, Architecture, and Planning and the University of Cincinnati. Carolyn has done residencies at the Mendocino Arts Center in Mendocino, California, at Anderson Ranch Arts Center in Snowmass, Colorado, and most recently at the Houston Center for Contemporary Craft in Houston, Texas.
